The agriculture minister is cautiously welcoming the possibility of Manx farmers working with an English firm which runs a number of abbatoirs.
Representatives of the Preston-based Dunbia were on the Island last week and delivered a presentation to some 180 Manx farmers at a meeting at Ellerslie Farm.
New markets for Manx meat are set to open up with the end of the red meat derogation, and Mr Shimmin says Dunbia is certainly offering one option:
