Change from commercial to residential rate offered
Pensioners living in sheltered housing in Ramsey are 'delighted' to know their six month battle has been successful.
Isle of Man Energy has agreed in principle to change the rate at which the residents are charged for gas from commercial to residential.
The offer's now being considered by the Northern District Housing Committee and Onchan Commissioners who oversee Springfield Court.
This means they will be charged 11.33pence per kilowatt instead of the 16.8pence that they've been paying.
Chanelle Sukhoo has this report:
In a statement to Manx Radio Isle of Man Energy says: "The company is currently in conversation with the Northern Housing District Board, and other similar organisations, about their tariffs and we hope to reach a satisfactory agreement soon."
The Northern District Housing Committee have been contacted for comment.
