The competition to find the best junior singer at the 2008 Manx Music Festival takes places this evening.
The Sheffield Plate will be contested by the winners of the nine solo classes, for boys and girls in the six to 16 age group.
They include a number of competitors who were in last year's final, among them Caleb Bester, from the 'ten and under twelve' class, the holder of the prize.
The Sheffield Plate gets underway at 7.45 this evening, and will be judged by Marrilynne Davies, one of the visiting adjudicators for this year's 'Guild'.
