Greater choice for those seeking public sector housing
The Chairman of Braddan Commissioners says he believes shared housing waiting lists are the way forward for the Island.
Colin Whiteway was speaking after the Eastern Area Housing Working Group announced that it was considering setting up such a list similar to those already in place in the north and south of the Island.
It's thought the idea would strengthen the working partnership between central and local government and give those seeking public sector housing greater choice.
Whilst both Braddan and Garff are involved in the scheme in partnership with the Department of Infrastructure, Mr Whiteway says Onchan District Commissioners have decided not to take part so far.
