Increase in number of reported assaults
Today is the beginning of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness Week.
Still seen as a taboo topic, the week hopes to make people who have been affected more comfortable in coming forward and talking about it.
Paula Gelling works for Victim Support Isle of Man and is the only independent sexual violence advisor on the Island.
