Online chatroom offender in court
A child sex offender who embarked on explicit conversations with a 13 year-old girl is due to be sentenced this afternoon (13 Oct).
Andrew Peter Corkill of North Shore Road in Ramsey admits five charges in relation to talking to the girl from the UK in an online chatroom.
The 37 year-old, who claims he did not realise the teenager was under-age, has already pleaded guilty to attempting to procure a child to commit an act of gross indecency, and attempting to commit an act of gross indecency with a child.
He will be sentenced by Deemster Montgomerie at Douglas Courthouse.
