Lane closure and traffic lights on Old Castletown Road
One lane will be closed and traffic lights will be in operation at White Hoe for the next four weeks while Manx Utilities carries out work to the sewerage system.
A cracked valve needs to be replaced at the White Hoe Sewage Pumping Station on Old Castletown Road.
The authority says it can't allow the valve to fail as this would lead to prolonged discharge of raw sewage into Douglas Bay, as well as resulting in the complete closure of the road.
The works are getting underway today, and Manx Utilities is apologising for the disruption caused to those using the road.
