The Isle of Man Water and Sewerage Authority is being accused of short-sightedness over IRIS.
The authority, chaired by Peel MHK Tim Crookall, has admitted if it progresses plans for the Island's central valley, as proposed in the regional strategies for the next stage of sewerage scheme, there would no option to link in Peel to the Meary Veg treatment works in Santon.
Peel commissioner Rodger Gimbert says that would make discussions between the local authority and WASA, to try and resolve sewage treatment for his area, 'a waste of time':
