Seven candidates will contest the four seats available on the Legislative Council later this month.
The position was confirmed when nominations closed this evening (Monday).
All four MLCs whose term of office has just ended — Alan Crowe, Dudley Butt, Alex Downie and George Waft — are all seeking re-election.
Also bidding for a seat in the upper chamber will be Douglas East MHK Phil Braidwood; Manx celebrity chef and hotelier Kevin Woodford and founder of Connect 2 Charity David Talbot.
The election will take place on March 15.
