Police are dealing with a serious road accident on the main Ballaugh to Kirk Michael road at Bishop's Court, Kirk Michael.
The road was closed for several hours but re opened just before 6.30 pm.
Police are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.
Meanwhile, police have issued an appeal for witnesses in connection with the accident.
They want to hear from anyone who saw a Blue Honda Jazz in the area of Bishop’s Court at around 3pm.
It is believed the vehicle was travelling from the Kirk Michael direction towards Ballaugh.
Anyone who was in the area and witnessed anything to do with a vehicle of this description is asked to contact Police Headquarters, Douglas on 631212, or speak to any police officer.
