27-year-old admits assault
A man from Stoke-on-Trent will be sentenced next month after punching a security guard in the face.
Ryan Paul Colclough, of John Ritchie Street, pleaded guilty to the assault during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse on 2 August.
The 27-year-old had been refused entry to the casino at the Best Western Palace Hotel, in Douglas, in the early hours of 17 July.
Colclough, who was drunk, continued to try and enter but was stopped by the staff member who pushed him to remove him from his personal space.
In retaliation Colclough threw a punch which connected with the employee – he was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters where he told officers he’d acted in ‘self-defence’.
A Social Enquiry Report has been requested before Colclough is sentenced on 6 September – he’s been bailed until that date.
