54-year-old appears at Douglas Courthouse
A Peel woman will be sentenced in December after wrongly claiming taxpayers’ money she wasn’t entitled to.
Barbara Christina Blanchard, of Close Chiarn, admitted three offences of making false representations to obtain benefits during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.
The 54-year-old also admitted committing benefit fraud by failing to inform the Treasury of a change in her circumstances.
The offences took place between May 2019 and March this year.
Blanchard had originally been due to stand trial.
A social enquiry report has been requested before Blanchard is sentenced on 1 December – she’s been bailed until that date.
