Building and old trams to be auctioned off
Douglas Borough Council insists a decision to sell off the horse tram stables was made in the interests of the ratepayer.
The buildings on Queens Promenade will be sold in addition to the six 'surplus' tram carriages due to go under the hammer on Saturday.
The nearby Strathallan building, which has been transferred to the Department of Infrastructure, will now be used to house the working horses.
Council Leader David Christian says there's already been interest in the site, and it wasn't viable to retain it:
