Tynwald petitioner Carol Quine to give evidence
The case for restoring free train and tram fares for Island pensioners will be heard this afternoon (Thursday).
A newly established select committee will hear evidence from Tynwald Day petitioner Carol Quine, one of three residents who presented a petition calling for a concession for Islanders over retirement age to be reinstated.
It was revoked last year by the Department of Infrastructure and half-price fares were introduced.
MLC David Cretney last month asked for the committee to be formed. It comprises newly elected MHKs Bill Shimmins, Rob Callister and Julie Edge.
The committee will sit in public in the Legislative Council Chamber at 2.30pm.
