Pupils taken to community centre
A police security operation is in force around Ashley Hill primary school in Onchan this lunchtime.
The building has been evacuated and staff and pupils have assembled in the village community centre.
Parents and carers are asked to collect their children as soon as possible - but members of the public should keep away from the area.
The nature of the security threat is unclear - officers say information was received by the emergency services control room at 10.30 this morning.
Police are stressing no one has been hurt and all the youngsters are being looked after by teaching staff and colleagues from the education department.
