Maintenance work will get underway on the Mountain Road today ahead of this year's Isle of Man TT.

The route is set to close from 9:30am between the Bungalow and the Creg Ny Baa.

It was due to get underway earlier this week, however the closure was pushed back until today due to delays with works along the A3 Ramsey to Peel road.

The works getting underway today - including surface repairs, line painting, and signage installation - are expected to take four weeks to complete.

That section of road will be shut 24/7 including over the Easter period.

Later this month the section from Ramsey to the Bungalow will also close but will reopen for the Easter Bank Holiday.

The Snaefell Mountain Railway will operate as normal, and the Snaefell Summit Café and Victory Café will be accessible from Sulby via the Tholt Y Will Road at all times.

The Creg Ny Baa will also be accessible from Douglas via Hillberry and Laxey via the Creg Ny Baa Back Road.
