DoI to tackle bitumous material spilt by private contractor
A section of the Mountain Road will close this morning after a contractor spilled a substance on the route.
The emergency closure will be in place between the Creg-ny-Baa and Bungalow from 9.30am until no later than midday.
The Department of Infrastructure says a private contractor spilt bitumous material onto the carriageway between Brandywell and the Bungalow yesterday.
After the contractor's initial efforts to clean the surface met with only limited success, teams from the DoI will plane the compound off the road surface before it's reinspected.
