Students campaign to say farewell

Year 11 pupils at Ballakermeen High school have launched an online campaign in a bid to be able to say farewell to one another at the end of term.

On Monday, the students were told they were to begin study leave early due to staff absences.

It's understood moves are underway to try to arrange a morning in which they can come in to sign each others shirts, which is a leavers tradition.

However, a number of pupils claim they're upset at not having a full, final day together especially as other schools will be able to do so.

The youngsters are hoping the authorities at Ballakermeen School can come up with a solution to grant them their wish.
