Claims post is outdated anachronism
Manx nationalist party Mec Vannin says the Isle of Man should rid itself of the Lieutenant Governor once and for all.
It’s as the hunt begins for a replacement for the current incumbent Adam Wood, who’ll step down next year.
Mark Kermode from the party says the post is an outdated anachronism which flaunts the UK’s power over the Island.
And he says, contrary to popular opinion, the governor’s role carries real constitutional power:
