The founder of the Save Our Cregneash Bus group says while members are happy with the introduction of a new service, it will be keeping a close eye on the developments.

Last week, Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood announced the 8S service will connect Peel and Foxdale with the south of the Island, including the Sound via Cregneash.

It will also serve the Airport, Castletown, Port Erin and Port St Mary.

However, it's all subject to approval from the Road Transport Licensing Committee.

Christa Viohl, who created a petition and started the group calling for the service to be reinstated, spoke to Chanelle Sukhoo:

Reacting to the news over the weekend, Rushen MHK Juan Watterson described it as a 'victory for people power':

Dr Haywood broke the news on the Mannin Line on Friday.

You can listen to her full announcement as well as her longer interview on 8S HERE.
