Mrs Maltby has held the seat in Douglas South since 2021
Douglas South MHK Sarah Maltby has declared her intention to stand in the 2026 general election.
She is the second candidate to make the announcement officially and is seeking to continue her tenure as an MHK in Douglas South for a further five years.
Mrs Maltby, who serves as Chair of the Manx Labour Party, told Manx Radio her top three priorities are social and economic growth, education and healthcare, and housing and accessibility.
In a letter to her constituents, she wrote: "Douglas South is not only my home, but also the community I have been proud to be part of my entire life. Representing Douglas South in Tynwald since 2021 has been a privilege, and I have worked tirelessly, both locally and nationally, to deliver meaningful, practical change for residents and for the Isle of Man as a whole."
The Isle of Man General Election is taking place on Thursday 24 September.
