Island branch of charity took 8,479 calls in last 12 months
The Isle of Man branch of the Samaritans is celebrating it's awareness day today (24 July).
It recognises the charity's commitment to taking calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
In the last 12 months, Samaritans took 8,479 calls and in June alone it received 643.
That's something Co-Director Deana Douglas says is a credit to the charity's volunteers:
The Isle of Man branch was founded 47 years ago.
