Local authority heard about decision through media
The clerk of Rushen Parish Commissioners says the local authority is angry after finding out about plans to hand over the Ballakilley Estate to Port Erin in the media.
The Department of Infrastructure has announced Tynwald will consider a recommendation to give Port Erin Commissioners control of the entire estate at next month's sitting.
However, Phil Gawne revealed the board weren't informed about the decision before it was announced to the media.
Just under half of the homes there are currently controlled by Rushen, making up around 10% of the authority's rate income.
