Wannenburgh says Budget vote was based on 'spiralling costs'

A Douglas North MHK has called for ‘rough, tough’ decisions to be made over the number of people employed by the Isle of Man Government.

John Wannenburgh told Manx Radio he voted against this year’s Budget due to the ‘spiralling costs’ of civil service headcount.

He has also challenged Treasury Minister Alex Allinson's view that many of the new workers employed are in frontline services:
