Wannenburgh says Budget vote was based on 'spiralling costs'
A Douglas North MHK has called for ‘rough, tough’ decisions to be made over the number of people employed by the Isle of Man Government.
John Wannenburgh told Manx Radio he voted against this year’s Budget due to the ‘spiralling costs’ of civil service headcount.
He has also challenged Treasury Minister Alex Allinson's view that many of the new workers employed are in frontline services:
Alex Allinson claims government cant 'arbitrarily' reduce its employee headcount without considering the provision of frontline services.
He gave evidence to the Economic Policy Review Committee following the Budget - you can find out more HERE.
