
Transport Minister David Anderson has told Tynwald a six-foot high security fence around Ronaldsway Airport is vitally important.
Last night, the court voted to allow his department to spend the £750,000 needed to build the barrier, which will be six kilometres in length.
Some politicians questioned whether it was really necessary and whether terrorists would ever strike at the airport.
Mr Anderson says the fence is important to ensure the Island isn't used as a launchpad for attacks elsewhere:
