Ronaldsway airfield opening delayed due to ATC staff sickness

UPDATE 7:35AM: The airfield is due to reopen at 8am.

The opening of the airfield at Ronaldsway is delayed this morning due to staff sickness in the air traffic control team (19 June).

A notice from the airport says despite its best efforts to find coverage, there are five team members with illness.

It says it hopes to have it open as soon as possible and has apologised for any impact which may be caused to today's flights.

So far, this morning's 6:50am Loganair flight to London City has been cancelled and all departures up until 10am currently delayed.

The inbound Liverpool easyJet flight due in at 7:40am is also delayed.
