Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan says he is disappointed the Department of Health and Social Security seemed to give up on the reciprocal health agreement, days before the United Kingdom offered a meeting about it.
At the weekend, Health Minister Eddie Teare said campaigns to overturn the ending of the agreement were pointless because the UK didn't want to hear any arguments.
Since then, Secretary of State for Health Andy Burnham has said he would be willing to meet politicians from the Island over the issue.
Mr Rodan, himself a former health minister, says he is very disappointed with the attitude of the DHSS:
