Police are advising motorists to avoid several stretches of road in the east of the Island, due to the strong winds and rain (2pm).
Emergency services have closed the promenade in Douglas from Summerhill to Port Jack due to the severe conditions.
Also closed to drivers for the time being are Shore Road in Gansey, Beach Road in Port St Mary, four roads roundabout Port Erin, to Ballakeighin and Rushen School, due to severe weather conditions.
Roads are expected to reopen at 4pm.
