Select committee examines proposals
The Island’s road traffic legislation will be under the spotlight this morning (Thursday).
A Legislative Council select committee will hear evidence in the chamber from 10.30am.
It was set up last year to look more closely at a range of proposals, which include increasing the maximum fines for speeding offences and updating the law on driving while under the influence of drugs.
Infrastructure chief executive Nick Black, director of highway services Jeff Robinson and members of the Island Road Transport Association are among those giving evidence.
