Order to be reviewed
Drivers in the Island won't be facing an increase in car tax for now, after a planned hike in vehicle duty was suspended.
Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer was due to bring revised fees before Tynwald yesterday (Tue).
But the order was withdrawn, and will now be reviewed and debated at a later date.
The proposed increases - which would have increased annual duty by as much as £34 for some road users - provoked a strong reaction from the public, with some branding the move 'shocking'.
