Police closed part of Johnny Watterson's Lane in Douglas this morning after a car hit a live electricity cable.
The section between Ballanard Road and Tromode Road was affected as the emergency services dealt with the accident.
Drivers were advised to take alternative routes and engineers from the Manx Electricity Authority worked on repairing the damaged cable.
The task was completed after about an hour and a half, and the road reopened to traffic shortly before midday.
The driver of the car wasn't hurt.
