RNLI donates commemorative rose bushes to sunken gardens

Orange and gold flowers a 'perfect addition'

The RNLI has donated two commemorative rose bushes to Douglas City Council.

The orange and gold flowers - named 'With Courage' - are in bloom and on display in the Sunken Gardens opposite the RNLI memorial statue.

They were created after the lifeboat charity teamed up with award-winning UK grower Peter Beales to celebrate 200 years of saving lives at sea.

The RNLI was founded by Douglas resident Sir William Hillary, in 1824, and the council says the roses are a 'perfect addition'.
