The Island’s Water and Sewerage Authority has asked for planning permission to rebuild part of a riverbed in Laxey.
Severe erosion below the weir at Laxey Fire Station means part of the stone wall which forms the bank has been damaged and is in danger of collapsing into the waterway.
The authority has applied for permission to reconstruct the riverbed after a specialist consultant inspected the waterway.
If the application is successful, workers would carry out emergency repairs to the retaining wall.
