It cost him his marriage and his business, but a TT rider from Yorkshire is vowing to finish the lap that nearly killed him.
Robbie Silvester suffered multiple life-threatening injuries in a 140mph crash at Greeba Castle in 2006.
He has since undergone 25 operations after suffering a shattered pelvis, a damaged spine, a broken tibia and fibula and a punctured bowel and bladder.
Five years on, Robbie will be back at this year's TT, helping out, and is eventually aiming to get back on two wheels:
