Government currently consulting on Strategic Plan
Towns outside of Douglas could be set to grow as government reassesses its planning policies.
It was recently announced that the Strategic Plan - a document which gives rules and guidance to planners - is to be reviewed.
The current plan focusses on developing properties in and around the Island's capital.
But Ethan Grubb, a senior planning officer within Cabinet Office, says this review could give government an opportunity to develop other communities:
"When you're delivering healthcare on an island, your costs are going to be higher"
