Increase in online readership and risings costs among reasons for decision

A shop in the south of the Island is to stop selling newspapers and magazines due to the increase in online readership.

Torden Stores says the increase in customers switching to online, along with rising costs and the number of days the papers don't arrive on Island has made selling the items untenable.

In an announcement on social media, the retailer says it will stop stocking newspapers and magazines from this Sunday.

Torden Stores also thanked those who've supported its newspaper sales.
