70 percent of balloted members are prepared to strike over pay

The Royal College of Nursing's regional director says the result of a recent indicative ballot 'speaks for itself'.

The union found that 70 percent of balloted members employed by Manx Care on the Isle of Man are prepared to strike over pay.

It can now proceed to a statutory ballot on industrial action, allowing its members to lawfully strike; if further negotiations prove unsuccessful.

But Simon Browes says the action isn't a 'done deal', and insists they would rather work with the government to find a solution:

Manx Care had offered a four percent pay uplift for 2024-25, but the union was concerned the offer wouldn't be backdated for those who've already left Manx Care since the start of the financial year.
