Restrictions on gov't hospital and care home visits to be eased

Changes to measures at health and care settings from tomorrow

Restrictions on government hospital and care home visits on the Island are to be eased from tomorrow.

Last week Manx Care put in restrictions on visits to hospitals, care homes and residential facilities, due to a small number of unexplained cases.

Now, following a low number of cases over the past week, government has announced it will be lifting the measures.

From tomorrow, patients at Noble’s, Ramsey Cottage Hospital and Manannan Court can nominate two people to see them during visiting time.

They'll be required to sign in and wear a face covering.

A two person limit will also apply for visits at Older Persons Day Services and Residential Care Homes.

Learning Disability Day Services and visiting within Learning Disability Community Houses will also restart.

Meanwhile, restrictions at Noble's emergency department will stay in place, with no visitors allowed, and one parent escorting a child during their stay.

Social distancing, face-covering, and hand hygiene measures will be kept in place at GP practices, NHS dental clinics, and opticians.
