Scottish airlinks will be back in place next spring.
Citiwing will operate the route between the Island and Glasgow airport using their 19 seat jetstream aircraft.
Managing Director of Citiwing, David Buck, says the service has come about after a joint approach from Scottish and Manx governments.
He believes the smaller aircraft than previously used on the route should make the route a viable business proposition.
Speaking on Manx Radio's Mandate programme this morning, First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond said it was important that he believed it was important the route could be sustained.
