Shopper's at the Island's shops and supermarkets will notice changes to the way alcohol is sold from today (Thursday).
A new code of practice has been introduced which will see alcohol sales concentrated in a single aisle in each store, with clear signage and leaflets detailing safe drinking practice.
There will also be a ban on drinks promotion advertising outside of designated areas.
The voluntary agreement was signed at Shoprite's Victoria Road store in Douglas by Department of Home Affairs Member Bill Malarkey MHK and Ofwatch chairman Peter Whittaker.
Mr Malarkey says it is a very robust scheme.
