Residents offered insight into plan to end sewage discharge into Laxey Bay

MU holding public drop-in sessions being held this week

There’s another chance today (28 November) to have your say on plans to end the discharge of sewage into Laxey Bay.

Manx Utilities is hosting a public information event – at Baldrine Methodist Church Hall - to showcase the proposal for a new regional sewage treatment strategy for Garff.

It will take place between 11am and 7.30pm.

The plan is to pump the wastewater from Baldrine and Laxey to a new treatment works on the edge of the Axnfell plantation above Laxey village.

The site which is managed by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, would be screened on three sides by dense woodland.
