His Majesty's Coastguard in the UK and the General Lighthouse Authority have been contacted

Residents in the north of the Island are being urged not to interfere with a large navigational marker that has washed ashore on the west coast.

The coastguard says the Safe Water Mark is around ten feet tall.

The UK Coastguard and the General Lighthouse Authority have been informed, and plans are in place to recover it.

People are being warned not to approach or touch the structure, as it is insecure and could topple.
