Reservoir levels down, but water stocks relatively healthy

Manx Utilities ask people to 'please use water wisely'

Water supplies in the Island's four main supply reservoirs have fallen during the recent warm, dry spell of weather.

However, the total average stock level at 77 percent of capacity is just 5 percent below the daily average figure.

With many parts of the UK still experiencing drought conditions leading to water shortages and hosepipe bans, the Isle of Man remains restriction free.

A snapshot of the current state of the reservoirs as of 17 August, shows Sulby Reservoir to be 82 percent full, just one percent below the daily average.

At West Baldwin the stocks are lower currently standing at 63 percent - well short of the daily average of 84 percent.

The two smaller reservoirs in Onchan - Clypse and Kerrowdhoo stand at 63 percent and 53 percent full respectively, down on the average figures of 81 percent and 70 percent.

The message from Manx Utilities is to please use water wisely.
