Health minister makes announcement on Mannin Line
The results of ongoing investigations into Abbotswood Nursing Home will be made public, the health minister has confirmed.
David Ashford was appearing live on the Mannin Line this lunchtime.
It's after issues of safeguarding were raised at the home, following the deaths of 19 residents as a result of Covid-19.
One investigation is being undertaken by an independent party, under the registration and inspections act, and has been through the Attorney General's Chambers.
Mr Ashford wouldn't put time scales on the process, but he did say there are a number of enquiries underway:
The minister said the remaining residents are being moved out of the facility in Ballasalla today.
He also confirmed the home's license is still suspended, but that's being appealed by Abbotswood bosses:
