
Economic Development Minister John Shimmin says he wants to encourage people to report breaches of work permit laws.
But he says, very often, bogus complaints are made by businesses who are trying to make trouble for rival companies.
Mr Shimmin is aware of reports of local people being ousted from jobs to make way for workers from off-Island.
And he says people should report any breaches of the work permit regulations to his department:
