Ørsted's Mooir Vannin project to enter examination phase
Anyone wanting to attend hearings relating to the Mooir Vannin offshore wind farm application is being urged to register in advance.
The application by Ørsted to build 87 wind turbines off the east coast of the Island is due to be scrutinised by an independent examining body.
Anybody wanting to attend in-person needs to register at least a week in advance for events being held 3-6 March.
That means if you want to attend the preliminary meeting or the public meeting at Woodbourne House next Tuesday (3 March) you have to register by the end of today.
Anyone can speak at these meetings and hearings if they have provided at least five working days’ notice.
Details of meetings and hearings
- Preliminary Meeting, Tuesday 3 March - 10am at Woodbourne House, Douglas. Register by Tuesday 24 February to attend. A Public Meeting will be held at the same venue at 4pm.
The Preliminary Meeting will discuss the procedure for the examination of the application and prepare those who want to give their views on the process.
Hearings will be held at the Comis Golf Club, start at 10am, and will explore these issues in detail:
- Wednesday 4 March - Marine Infrastructure Consent and matters relating to land and rights. Register by Wednesday 25 February to attend.
- Thursday 5 March - environmental impact assessment and protected species. Register by Thursday 26 February to attend.
- Friday 6 March - shipping and navigation. Register by Friday 27 February to attend.

Details of any further meetings and hearings the Examining Body may arrange will be announced in due course.
