Advice from RNLI as temperature soar ahead of weekend
Anyone planning to head out to sea is being reminded by the RNLI to stay safe.
High temperatures are expected once again today (11 July) and throughout the weekend.
But the organisation says, whilst the air temperatures might be hot, there's still a risk of cold water shock for anyone entering the sea.
Water Safety Officer Claire Hamer explains what you should do if you get into difficulty:
On Saturday, 12 July Port Erin RNLI will be hosting a special naming ceremony at high tide for its new Atlantic 85 lifeboat, Neil Crowe.

Float to Live:
Tilt your head back with ears submerged, try to relax and control your breathing, use hands to stay afloat, once through the initial shock, call for help. Its ok if your legs sink, we all float differently
If you see someone in trouble at the coast, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
Carry a means of calling for help at all times.
Check weather forecast and tide times before heading out.
