Remand for Douglas man accused of handling criminal cash

41-year-old enters 'no plea' to five charges

A Douglas man has been remanded in prison after being accused of handling criminal cash to the value of more than £168,000.

Garry Paul Dentith, of Princes Street, has been charged with three offences of entering into an arrangement – they’re said to have taken place in February, March and September this year.

The 41-year-old appeared at Douglas Courthouse yesterday (25 October) where the court heard the allegations centre around cash found in vehicles, driven by others, which had been stopped at the Sea Terminal.

He’s also been charged with possessing almost £13,000 in criminal property and being unlawfully concerned in the production of cannabis.

Those charges date between December and 19 October this year - Mr Dentith entered ‘no plea’ to each of the five charges. 

Committal proceedings, where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery, will take place on 20 December.

There was no application for bail and he was remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until his next appearance on 22 November.
