A six week scheme to improve traffic flow and safety at Quarterbridge in Douglas is under way today (Monday).
Repairs and improvements at the junction will include localised widening of the road, resurfacing and the creation of a pedestrian crossing point.
At the same time, the controversial red and white plastic bricks will disappear, a move which Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says will please many road users (play audio file):
The layout of the junction will remain essentially the same and the work will continue until at least mid March.
